Huawei Likely to Provide Mobile Network Equipment for London Underground

Huawei is likely to be selected by London Underground to be the sole telecom equipment supplier of the tube's mobile network deployment project, according to a February 20, 2011 report by the Financial Times. London Underground is scheduled to put mobile network on the tub before the 2012 Olympics, and the company is expected to close the deal before early April this year. Huawei is reported to offer significant discount on its equipment, aiming to make foray into the UK market. The entire mobile network project is value at more than 100 million pounds (US$ 161.3 million; US$1=0.62 pound).
